For all of us planning our family
calendars, vacations, escapes from the Tucson heat this summer... These
are the dates you'll need to have your student back in town for Band
Camp.
Remember: Band Camp is MANDATORY for Band members! We would like to count on you, too, as we need lots of volunteers to make Camp run smoothly. Right now, all we have are the dates. Look for more details soon. If you already have a conflict or simply have a question or two, contact our director, Jeff Marchant, jeff@marchant.net * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * Instrumental

Here is the information pretty much as we received it... SchoolTube is hosting the All American Marching Band Contest for MENC in 2008-2009. All details are provided at the link below. It is a terrific opportunity for your student band members to compete and perform during halftime at the All American Bowl Game in January 2009. All selected individuals will be treated much like the selected players of the game. They will be flown to the game site a week before the game, have time for practice, participate in exclusive bowl festivities planned just for them and they will receive excellent recognition for their achievements. Check it out at: http://menc.schooltube.com. Consider sending in your auditions via this website. This sounds like a really fun opportunity! If you have any questions, please contact the Director for further assistance. Ken

The Marching Band performs at all Sabino football games, pep assemblies and several competitions during band season. It provides the building of marching fundamentals, advanced techniques in instrumental music, and the opportunity to work as part of a team (or in some cases, a very large family). The level of effort is high, but the value of the end result and memories are unparalleled. STUDENTS, REMEMBER TO BRING YOUR WATER BOTTLES TO BAND PRACTICES! There will be igloos of water available for refills during the rehearsals, too!
